Simple, One-Story Exterior
Commonly under about 1,200 interior sq. ft.
$7,500–$15,000
- Fewer exterior walls and elevations
- Generally easier equipment access
- Maintenance refresh through moderate prep
Summit restores weathered log and timber exteriors with a condition-first approach: careful inspection, the right level of surface preparation, compatible stain and protective topcoat, and a clearly defined project scope before work begins.

Typical project planning ranges
These ranges help with early budgeting. Final pricing is based on exterior wall area—not only interior square footage—plus height, access, coating removal, wood condition, repair needs and finish system.

Complete exterior care
A durable result depends on what happens before the finish is applied. Your quote is built around the cabin’s current coating, wood condition, sun and moisture exposure, height, access and repair needs.
From maintenance cleaning and targeted sanding to full coating removal or media blasting when a failed finish must come off.
Compatible log-home finish systems, color sampling on your actual wood and protective coating recommendations based on exposure.
Inspection and optional repair of open joints, failed sealant and larger checks that may allow water or air intrusion.
Quote the cabin alone or include log siding, trim, soffits, exposed beams, railings, decks and detached wood structures.
The Summit approach
We review finish failure, weathering, mildew, checks, chinking, soft areas, exposure and site access.
We recommend maintenance cleaning, sanding, chemical stripping or media blasting based on what the wood actually needs.
Optional chinking, caulking, check sealing and localized wood repair are identified before finish work.
Stain samples are viewed on the actual logs because species, age and prep can change the final color.
We complete the agreed finish system, detail the work area and review the completed scope with you.
Know the warning signs
Early maintenance can be far simpler than waiting until coating failure, open joints or moisture exposure require a full restoration.
The look worth protecting
Your final scope may range from a maintenance refresh to complete coating removal and refinishing. The goal is the same: sound preparation and a finish that complements the cabin.
